About Shaper: Micah Wood

Micah began studying surfboard shape and design at the age of 12. At 13 years old, he began riding for Christenson Surfboards, and watched Chris Christenson shape his boards for about 3 years, until he was offered the opportunity to ride for Gordon & Smith Custom Surfboards. He began working with some new ideas with Masi Saili and watched Masi

shape his boards for around 6 years. He then started working closely with Ernie Higgins

and Chris Darby on refining the Gordon & Smith Custom Surfboard models. He couldn't

take it any more watching everyone else shape his boards, so he started shaping his own.

シェイパー：マイカ・ウッドについて

マイカがサーフボード・デザイン及びシェイプを学び始めたのは１２歳の頃。

クリス・クリステンソン・サーフボードを乗り、クリステンソンのシェイプを約３年間観察。

その後ゴードン＆スミス・サーフボードをライドし、そのG&S出身のシェイパーである

マシ・サイリのシェイプを約６年間観察。そのまま流れるようにG&Sにてポリッシャーとして

仕事をする様になる（現在はラミネート、グラッシングなど全ての工程をも修行中）。

アーニー・ヒギンス、クリス・ダービー等のG&Sサーフボードをポリッシュする毎日

マイカはもう他のシェイパー達を観察するのみでは我慢出来なくなり、自身にてシェイプを

スタートさせる。まだまだ若いマイカであるが、一流シェイパー達のシェイプを見ながらの１３年。

マイカ本人のサーファーとしてのレベル及びチームライダーのライディングを見れば

どれだけのクオリティーだかは一目瞭然である。弱冠２５歳・・・恐るべし・・・マイカ・ウッド！！！
